FaePosium 2.0

Gather in San Francisco the weekend of October 2-3, 2009, at Mama Calizo's Voice Factory & the Center for Sex and Culture  for presentations, discussion, performance, art, food and frolic.   We'll have juicy presentations and reflective discussions on difficult topics—like diversity (or lack thereof) in our communities, gender, money and politics. Have a topic you want to present on? Write up a short description and send it to us!  We invite co-conspirators to join us in initiating discussion, coalescing consciousness, celebrating spirit and documenting culture.

As our communities enter our ‘thirtieth’ year, our Saturn Return, we have great opportunities to reflect on the past and envision our future. Where do we want to be in 30 years? Or even just five? Looking back, let’s solidify the lessons of the last thirty years so we can move on; looking forward, let’s take a fresh look at who we are and what we offer. Given the wider context of the moment—massive economic and ecological transitions and Obama-fication—how can we best spread our wings and share our magic even more widely? For ourselves, what do we want-need-desire-offer to each other for healing, celebration and support? What is our Faerie Magic? Together let's weave our stories and create our visions. We are all empowered. We are all creators. Let us use the tools at hand, be they new (can you say ‘FaceBook’ or ‘twitter’?) or old (‘heart circle,’ ‘gathering,’ ‘pen and paper’). Our future is up to us.

This big vision will need lots of community support. Donations (tax-deductible) of any size are welcome, and volunteer opportunities (media, fundraising, volunteer coordination, food) are many. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have graciously granted us some seed money, and RFD Magazine has agreed to be our fiscal umbrella. You can donate, sign up to volunteer or just get the latest news at our website www.faeposium.org
